Reservations, Rates & Payment
Who is a stay at Coniferis Retreat best suited for?
Paragraf unu de test.
Paragraf doi de test. Our resort was built as a sanctuary of quiet, privacy and connection with nature. A stay here works particularly well for:
Couples (romantic escapes): the right setting for anniversaries, proposals or simply uninterrupted time together.
Families: each cabin comfortably sleeps up to 4 people, in a safe and welcoming space that children love.
Groups of friends: book several cabins next to each other and spend the evenings around the grill, the kettle pot or in the hot tub, under a full sky of stars.
Digital detox: if screens and city noise have caught up with you, the forest and the clean mountain air do the rest.
Workation: free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and heating, and a landscape that keeps you calm - a good place to work remotely without feeling like you are at work.
How much does one night cost?
Our rates are dynamic and depend on two things: the dates you choose (weekdays, weekends or public holidays) and the cabin itself, since each one has its own features.
The quickest way to see the exact price is the booking calendar on our website: www.coniferis.com. Enter your dates, pick a cabin, and you get instant availability and the total price - with no hidden fees.
Do you offer discounts for longer stays?
Yes. We would rather you had enough time to properly switch off and explore the Padurea Craiului Mountains, so the longer you stay, the lower the nightly rate:
2 - 4 nights: standard rate
4 - 7 nights: 20% off
7 - 25 nights: 25% off
25+ nights: 40% off
The discount is applied automatically by the booking system as soon as you select your dates in the calendar.
How do I book, and how is the booking confirmed?
Booking is quick and happens entirely online, on our own website.
Pick your dates or the cabin you like, choose from the available days in the calendar and follow the steps in the booking form.
Confirmation is instant: as soon as the payment goes through, you receive an automatic email with all the details of your stay.
What payment methods do you accept? Do you take holiday vouchers?
Payment is entirely online, fast and fully secured. You can pay by:
Bank card: any debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard), right at the end of the booking process.
Romanian holiday cards (Edenred, Up, Pluxee/Sodexo): accepted in full or in part - just select that option in the payment form.
Split payment (voucher + transfer): if the balance on the holiday card does not cover the whole stay, pay what is available on the voucher and we will issue an invoice for the difference, payable by bank transfer.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
We are a small property with limited capacity, so confirmed bookings matter a great deal to us. Our policy is:
Free cancellation or rescheduling: no charge if you let us know at least 30 calendar days before your check-in date.
Late cancellation: for cancellations or changes made less than 30 days before arrival, the amount paid is non-refundable.
No-show: if you do not arrive on the day of your booking, the full amount is retained.
If your plans change unexpectedly, please get in touch as early as you can.
What is the minimum stay? Can we book a single night?
The standard minimum stay is 2 nights - long enough to actually slow down and enjoy the place.
That said, time is sometimes short. If you need a single night, write to us on WhatsApp: whenever there is a free window between other bookings, we will do our best to fit you in.
Can you arrange a surprise for a special occasion (birthday, proposal)?
Yes - and we genuinely enjoy being part of these moments. Our team sets everything up before you arrive, so there is nothing left for you to organise. Both packages can be added to your basket when you book:
Marriage proposal setup: candles, flowers and romantic balloons, arranged so that all you have to do is live the moment.
Birthday setup: colourful balloons, fresh flowers or a chilled bottle of Prosecco. We handle the details, you enjoy the celebration.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes. We think the best gifts are experiences rather than objects.
A Coniferis gift card gives someone a break in the middle of the forest, far from the city - a romantic escape, a family holiday, or simply a few days of quiet.
How it works: the recipient can use it towards accommodation or optional services at the resort, and plans the stay entirely as they wish.
Available values: 120 RON, 300 RON, 600 RON and 1200 RON.
Location, Directions & Access
Where exactly are you, and how do we get there?
We are in the village of Tomnatic, part of Vadu Crisului commune, tucked into the Padurea Craiului range of the Apuseni Mountains, in Bihor County - about an hour from Oradea and its international airport.
For the best and safest route, use Google Maps: search for "Coniferis", or open the link below, which takes you straight to our gate:
https://maps.google.com/?q=46.927799,22.454700
What is the access road like? Can we come in a small city car?
Yes - any car will do, no 4x4 needed. The road is paved almost the whole way; the last 2 kilometres are a well-maintained gravel road that a normal city car handles without trouble.
In winter: the road is ploughed and cleared regularly. Still, this is a mountain location, so winter tyres are mandatory and we recommend carrying snow chains just in case.
Is there private parking? Where do we leave the car?
Yes - free private parking, right inside the property. The spaces are safe and easy to reach, so you can leave the car there for the whole stay without a second thought.
Can I charge an electric car on site?
We do not have a dedicated fast charger yet, but you can charge from a standard 220V socket on the property.
One charge costs 100 RON. Please let us know when you book, or before you arrive, if you would like to use it, so we can have everything ready.
Cabin Facilities & Comfort
How are the cabins laid out, and how do they differ?
The cabins are spaced deliberately far apart, so each one feels private. They share the same level of comfort, but each has its own character:
Luna: hidden inside the conifer grove - maximum privacy and a complete disconnect.
Tiramisu: the panoramic one, sitting right above a field of lavender.
Dyno: has a suspended net "nest" on the deck and a clear view into the pine forest.
Pistacchio: our pet-friendly cabin, the one to book if you are bringing the dog.
Hypo: besides the outdoor hot tub, it has an indoor bathtub set right in front of a panoramic window.
Cappuccino: floor-to-ceiling windows keep you connected to the forest from the bed, and the private hot tub turns the deck into an open-air spa.
Do all cabins have a hot tub? Is it included in the price?
Yes - every cabin has its own private hot tub, and they are built to be used all year round. In winter, sitting in the warm water while it snows is the best part of the stay.
Cost: hot tub access is included in the standard accommodation rate.
On arrival: whenever the cleaning and water-change schedule allows, we make sure the tub is already at temperature when you check in.
Is there Wi-Fi? How good is the signal?
Yes, every cabin has free Wi-Fi, so you can stay in touch.
That said, this is a mountain retreat in the middle of the forest. Speed and stability can vary with the weather or with the network provider, which is outside our control. We would gently suggest treating that as a good reason to put the screens down.
Is the kitchen equipped? What do we need to bring?
Yes, every cabin has a fully equipped kitchen:
Appliances: an air fryer for quick cooking (Dyno also has a conventional oven), a hob and a fridge.
Cookware and tableware: pots, pans, cooking utensils, plates, mugs, cups and several types of glasses, wine glasses included.
On the house: a coffee machine with coffee, tea, and the cooking basics - oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and a few other spices.
In practice, all you need to bring are the ingredients for whatever you feel like cooking.
What is the outdoor area like? Is there a deck and a grill?
Yes. Every cabin has a private deck with outdoor furniture - the natural place to sit with a coffee and do nothing in particular.
Each cabin also has its own barbecue area:
Charcoal grill: firewood is prepared and provided by us.
Gas grill: Luna is the exception, with a modern gas grill that is very easy to use.
Kettle pot (ceaun): available on request, with its tripod, for cooking something traditional over the fire. Just let us know and we will set it up.
Are the cabins warm in winter and cool in summer?
Yes, in every season. The cabins are very well insulated and fitted with modern systems:
Underfloor heating: ideal for the cold months - even, gentle warmth throughout.
Air conditioning: every cabin has a unit, for cooling on hot days and for topping up the heating quickly when needed.
Do you serve food? Where can we eat?
We do not have a restaurant of our own yet, but there are good options nearby:
Traditional food delivered: on request, we can put you in touch with local households who cook traditional dishes and bring them straight to your cabin - good for breakfast or dinner.
Restaurants nearby: the two closest are Pensiunea Gradia (https://maps.app.goo.gl/AheAPmWpcmtAcdJ68) and Pensiunea Casa Bucatarului (https://maps.app.goo.gl/3VsA5ds2A2qa78og8).
Can we rent bikes on site?
Yes. The Padurea Craiului Mountains are excellent cycling country, with routes for every level, and seeing the area on two wheels is well worth it.
We rent bikes ourselves. To make sure they are free for your dates, add them as an "extra service" in the basket when you fill in the booking form - they will be ready when you arrive.
What is there to do nearby?
The Padurea Craiului Mountains are a playground for anyone who likes being outdoors. Easy hiking trails, spectacular caves (Meziad Cave, or the crystal cave at Farcu Mine), via ferrata routes, rafting on the Crisul Repede, horse riding and cycling are all within reach.
To help you plan, we have put together a full guide to the top 10 activities and attractions around Coniferis Retreat.
House Rules, Check-in & Pets
What are the check-in and check-out times?
So that every cabin is cleaned and properly prepared before you arrive:
Check-in: any time from 15:00.
Check-out: by 11:00 at the latest.
Access is by self check-in. Before your arrival day we send you everything you need, including the exact location of the key box and the code to collect the key to your cabin.
Are you pet-friendly? Can we bring our dog?
Yes, we like animals and are happy to host them. For now, pets are welcome in one cabin only - Pistacchio, which is set up specifically for that.
Please tell us when you book, so we can have everything ready for your four-legged guest.
Is smoking allowed in the cabins?
For everyone's safety and comfort, smoking of any kind - including vaping, IQOS and other e-cigarettes - is strictly forbidden inside all of the tiny houses.
If you smoke, please use the private outdoor decks, where you will find ashtrays. Help us avoid any fire risk and keep the forest clean by disposing of cigarette ends only in the ashtrays provided.
