The Story of Coniferis – Your Transylvanian Hideaway
Coniferis was born from a simple yet powerful desire: to create a sanctuary where nature isn’t just a backdrop, but the heart of the experience. We wanted to build something different from the typical mountain lodge—a place that blends modern minimalism with the wild beauty of the Western Carpathians.
We chose the Pădurea Craiului Mountains in Bihor County for its untouched landscapes and serene atmosphere. While it feels worlds away from civilization, getting here is surprisingly easy.

By Air: We are just a short drive from Oradea International Airport (OMR) and roughly 2 hours from Cluj-Napoca International Airport (CLJ), the main hub for Transylvania with flights from all over Europe.
By Car: If you are on a European road trip, we are located right next to the Hungarian border. You can reach us quickly via the highway from Budapest, making Coniferis an ideal stop to begin your Romanian adventure without long, exhausting drives on winding roads.
Our home is Tomnatic, a tiny, secluded mountain village where traditions are still alive, and time seems to flow at a different pace.

Location and surroundings
Situated almost halfway distance between two of the most influential cities in Transilvania, 121 km from Cluj- Napoca (Cluj International Airport) and 67 km from Oradea (Oradea International Airport) in Tomnatic. A remote village, that offers a natural and wild feel, like one of the last untamed places in Romania.
The land were we are developing is representative of the area, being characterized by the hills, that highlight and build a real natural embankment on which the flora rich in conifers is displayed.
